A backyard wedding in Columbus, Ohio

After graduation, I moved home to Ohio and (to Nina’s chagrin) accepted a position at the church she was working at. I would come to find out that Nina was just as nervous as I was about working together again. We hadn’t spoken in two years; so, after work one day we decided to grab coffee and catch up. Mostly to say sorry for ignoring each other for two years, but we were curious what the other got up to while we were apart! After some long (and hard) conversations we realized that our feelings for each other never really went away. Through several months of a lot of prayer and a lot of hanging out, we decided to give the whole ‘falling in love’ thing another chance. This time around, we were determined to do it better. And I think we nailed it. Six months in, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Nina. So, I bought a ring and on leap day of 2020 I asked Nina to be my wife. Best decision ever.

Daniel and Nina’s day felt different for me in the best way. It was slow and intimate and perfect. I felt so much more focused on the moments around me, and I hope you can tell by how candid and natural this gallery feels! Their story is so beautiful - years and years of loving each other and being apart when they needed to be and coming back together again. These two were so full of joy to be married even though their plans changed multiple times due to covid. And I’d say their backup plan was pretty stunning!! Daniel’s parents finished their new home just in time for the wedding. It’s a special place to them because it’s also where they got engaged! (Scroll to the photos on the bridge - the exact spot Daniel proposed!). So thankful to know these two and to document this day!
